40 feared killed as passenger jet crashes in Iran

No fewer than 40 persons are feared killed in an air crash in the vicinity of Tehran’s International Mehrabad Airport on Sunday morning in Iran.

The Iran-140 Sepahan Air jetliner had just taken off from Mehrabad Airport when it crashed in the outskirts of the capital at about 5:15am Nigerian time and 9:45am in Iran.
The passenger plane was bound for Tabas in Eastern Iran.
There are yet no official reports on the number of casualties, but emergency squads said all passengers must be dead, reports FNA.

Other emergency teams said some 40 passengers have been killed in the incident.
Some news reports said there were 50 passengers and crews aboard the plane.
