I quit education after I scored 17 in JAMB – Timaya

Ukwu crooner, Enetimi Alfred Odom, famously known as Timaya, in a recent performance in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, disclosed that he abandoned education after he scored 17 marks in the entrance examination conducted into Nigerian universities and polytechnics by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.

According to the singer: “Education is not for me.
“It is important, yes, but not for me.
“I scored 17 in JAMB.
“That was when I gave up.
“I don’t have the brain for education but for those of you who do, please do.
“It’s good.”

Timaya was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in 1977.
He was the youngest of 15 children.
His father was a banker and mother a trader.
He schooled at the Assemblies of God Nursery and Primary and Secondary School Nkpolu Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt.
He got a secondary school certificate in Lagos at Ikeja Grammar School.
