Nigeria Ranks Eighth As Commonwealth Games 2014 Ends

The 2014 Commonwealth Games has formally closed with a spectacular ceremony at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

 

Kylie Minogue, Lulu, Deacon Blue and more than 2,000 performers brought the curtain down on what has been praised as the "best Games ever".

Team England topped the medals table with 174, while host Scotland came fourth with a total of 53 medals- 19 Gold, 15 Silver and 19 Bronze.

One of Africa representative South Africa came seventh with 13 Gold, 10 Silver and 17 Bronze making 40 medals, while Nigeria came eighth with 11 Gold, 11 Silver and 14 Bronze making a total of 36 medals.
