Bayelsa has nothing to show for Jonathan's six years presidency - APC

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Bayelsa State yesterday asked the Bayelsa State governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson to show case the benefits derived by the state under the six years rule of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as President.

The party blasts the governor for mocking the APC over attraction of development to the state under the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. According to the APC, though the mockery of the leaders of the APC over their inability to draw from the power of the party at the centre and bring federal appointments and projects to the state is considered mischievous and reckless, the APC, and indeed the generality of Bayelsans, considered both Jonathan and the PDP as liabilities to the people of the state.

The APC leaders , in a statement issued yesterday via email and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Fortune Panebi, lamented that both the immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his party, the PDP ,were liabilities to the people of the state.

It said that “it can only be preposterous that development which had eluded our dear state over the years under a PDP national government can be hurriedly” attained within 15 months of President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The statement reads in part, “Our attention was today drawn to a mischievous and loose statement credited to the Bayelsa State governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, apparently in clear exhibition of arrogance and shallowness that APC leaders from Bayelsa State were yet to attract development to the state. From the statement, it was clear that the governor was either being misled by his own imagination or was merely expressing another misguided view of our party, the APC.

‘’In our view, the statement was reckless even as it was a shameless show of brazen arrogance by a man whose party, the PDP had an ample opportunity to develop Bayelsa State but looked the other way.
